CHLOE M. COOKE

My creative practices are rooted in experimentation and play. I often create work that allows me to understand and discover more about the world through connections. The intersections between beauty and truth unravel before us as we move through life. These moments are often shaped by our entanglements—with ourselves, each other, our communities, and the land around us. The nonhuman experiences can show us the depths of humanity. When we document these quiet moments and intentionally weave discovery into our reality, we gain the ability to dream of new paths for ourselves and others.

Infinitely Queer

Salt/Silver alternative photography process series about how queerness will always be alive regardless of the events going on in our world. When looking throughout history we don’t have many images of queer relationships from the past. Even if they were hidden, I know queer folks existed bc me and my queer community exist today. I don’t need images of the past to prove this. Queer folks will always exist and I’m so grateful that we are given the ability to archive our identities and love today. This series is a homage to queer folks of the past who had to hide for fight so we can be out today.
